Reaction : Trees

In recent years, the topic of forest loss and associated environmental problems resonated more strongly with society in Slovakia. We have had these problems here for a long time, but so have people and initiatives „fighting windmills“ for over twenty years. I interpret their meticulous work by meticulously collecting the headlines of articles from the media regarding criticism of forest management, which I then project onto a wood dump in the forest. Although this work has a critical character, it cannot be called activism. Rather, its ephemerality reflects only a temporary interest in individual environmental causes. Just as these articles in the media become a pile of news the next day, so also this work remains only a pile of wood the next day. The output is a video documentation of the performed action.
